I've assembled a few AR's, and everyone I have ever done has had a commercial buffer tube assembly...I just couldn't find a reasonable priced mil spec buffer tube. However, at the IDPA Provincials in Kingston, Ontario today, SFRC had a booth, and they were selling ATI mil-spec buffer tube assemblies (no buttstock included) at a very reasonable price. I picked one up and like the fit and finish, and it is made in the USA. If you are looking to change your commercial buttstock to a mil-spec, or you want a mil spec buffer tube for your next build, we seem to have a source now in Canada.

BTW, not trying to start a fight here about how mil spec is better than commercial or vice versa...just some people prefer mil-spec and our options have been limited in the past.

Hey guys Im a bit of a Newb but what is the difference between the two?

Which is better or why?

For example a Ruger SR-22.....how do you know if it's Mil or Comm?

Thanks

Guys, the one from SFRC is complete minus the buttstock itself...it has the buffer tube, nut, endplate, buffer and buffer spring. The one from Armseast does not include the buffer or the spring, and is only a few dollars less. That was my point...finding a reasonably priced mil spec unit is hard...finding a more expensive one, that isn't so hard. Most times I swap out the cheapo buttstock and go with a CTR, so this kit is exactly what I was after.
