Shotgun would have been more fun but I need to start the claim as I am scale less

A friend of mine was having problesm and got teh same offfer from RCBS. Sicne there was nothing to lose, he took it apart and found a lot of powder inside. Cleaned that out and now it works just fine....

Heres a question... why they charge 65 bucks,, every item I ever had to return for warrenty I was charged 0...

Reloading electronics usually have 1 year warranties, regardless of manufacturer. You won't get treated any better with any of the other companies.

I think this leaves them open to fraud quite easily... Say I got a photo of a smashed unit from a friend or online, call them and tell them mine is broken and I send them the pictures then I get a free chargemaster... Or if I had bought one (just so I'd be a registered owner) then I could have two without actually smashing one. Just seems kind of dumb that they wouldn't want you to ship your broken unit in.

Then again we as firearms owners are the most honest and law abiding citizens so I suppose they can trust the honor system :)

You have to send photos with your cheque, so I assume they have to be taken with a camera.

I have contacted RCBS as my dispenser is starting to give me a bit of trouble on some powders and this it the response I got.

"we don’t have a repair center in Canada but if you send us pictures of the unit with the serial # and then pictures of the unit completely smashed or broken (showing it can not be used again) and $65.00, we will send you a new unit. You can email the pictures and credit card # and expiration date or email the pictures and then call in to give your credit card info."

I also asked if I could just do the dispenser as the scale is working fine and here was the response.

"it is the entire unit that needs to be smashed. A new dispenser may not link to the old scale properly so we replace the whole unit"

You can't go wrong with service like this, I will be taking them up on this when the unit finally dies.

Don

Well, I was looking for a scale, I think I'm just going to suck it up and buy an RCBS.

Wow, I'm impressed by the number of people who have stated nothing short of impressive service from RCBS..... i'm Sold!

That is not the response I got..oh well

Are you just as impressed by the number of failures? Its a bit of a paradox.

touché salesman, touché.

the best customer service is the one you never have to use.

But right now, I've heard of just about all scales failing some way or another, and with RCBS's warranty procedure, they seem best.
