Are there plans for any more handgun only matches in Ontario before the Oct 8 GRGC ODPL one? It seems like there are only multi-gun matches these days, and I don't have the tactical long gun gear yet.

Sudbury Revolver Club, Sept 4/5 ODPL, 5+ stages, 50+ rounds. If you cast your net wider there are also NRA 2700 on Sat, and PPC, Pepper Poppers, ISU matches on Sunday. You can make a real weekend out of it.

Every last Saturday of the month (except for December & January) at Sharon Gun Club at 10am there's a pistol match but this Saturday shotgun is required.

Every Wednesday night at Target Sports it's IDPA night I think.

You don't need "tactical" anything...
As a matter of fact the tac'd up shooters are usually the slowest.

What is required to attend? Black Badge etc?

So I could show up with my 28" Remi 870 and a 1941 Lee Enfield? These are the only long guns I have right now. I plan on buying an AR and 18.5" tac shotgun, but I probably won't have the funds until next year.

Are non-members welcome to the Sharon shoot as well? If so, do we need to pay the club a day fee or something?

Sharon Monthly IDPA Match

The door is open to shooters who are not members, all you pay is the match fee, and prove you have some holster skills, not necessarily IPSC - IDPA, ODPL, CDP, and PPC are acceptible.

Why not...?

GRGC's "TEAM HOSER" 3-gun Challenge is "Run what you brung"

Your Remi is more than adequate for 3-gunning.
That 28" toob will be great.

Your LE... If you can manipulate that bolt as well as you goddamn should be able to I'm sure you'll do fine.
You'll see many pimp'd out AR's jamming and failing so a simple bolt gun might just win the day... It's happened :D

If you're really don't want to try the LE... Hell, sign up and I'll lend you a spare 16" iron sighted AR to use.

Thanks. As usual this sport is very welcoming.

buy a short barrel and a mag extension for your 870 and it is every bit as effective as the black shotties just not as tacticool.
that's what i use - spend the extra dollars on practice ammo.

How much is the match fee? What is considered proof of "holster skill"? How many rounds required? Is this an informal match?

IPSC Black Badge (From an offical course)
IDPA Orientation Certification (From an offical course)
CDP/PPC Competitor Certification (From an offical course)
Match Director's approval

Thanks, is it a good match for someone who has never participated in one?
