Impressive video.

Imagine if this guy was alone vs the leopard. I respect leopards even more after seeing this video. It seems to have exited the bushes without a set target in mind, but the split second it takes him to select a target and pounce is blisteringly quick.

Once the leopard entered into the ''zone'' it was more dangerous for the hunters to discharge their arms then to let the leopard attack. Chances are someone would of been wounded/killed in the crossfire and the leopard unknowingly exploited this fact.

Some people are dissing the hunter for screaming, but I think unless placed in a situation like this, it's difficult to know how one might actually react. I think it's as much a primitive vocal signal for fear as it is letting the other hunters know your not dead yet and so don't shoot in my direction...lol I actually think he did alright fighting off the beast.

He's lucky the group he was hunting with all reacted VERY professionally.

I have no pitty for the hunter, you go on against a dangerous, fast and smart animal. You play with fire, you're bound to get burnt at some point. The animal and the hunters all had their chances, which they all took. Its part of the game.

Thats why I'd never pay thousands of dollars to hunt dangerous game, I'd rather stay home and hunt game I know without getting mauled.

Good on ya Leopard..

5 on one and they had guns and he still nearly took one out. That is a hunter,

Compared to that Leopard, humans are chumps

As far as the screaming goes... what the hell else are you supposed to do when a Leopard is killing you?

Sorry if I offend anyone too bad, but when I see a group of heavily armed "hunters" going after one animal, and the animal gets pissed off and goes after one of these "hunters", I'm always cheering for the animal.

Did anyone else notice how the narrator at the start says the hunters got off "a few shots" before the video even started?

Yeah, I bet the fathers of those "men" are real proud of their sons...

Ever have an ordinary house cat lock onto your arm or leg! Multiply that by 1000... no sh!t screaming.

Killer instinct on behalf of the leopard though, rushes out and heads for the largest group of "apes", in it's eyes, hoping to either take down as many as possible or scare them into scattering.

Who gives a F**k if the guy was screaming !!! He was being eaten !!! Folks who watch video's can chirp all they want about the screaming, but I was quite impressed that the guy fought back and was kicking at the cat while it was chewing him like beef jerky..

He's not such as big tough "professional hunter" with a big double rifle anymore! Thumbs-up for the cat. Play with fire and you will be burned. My wife screamed less in labour. Poor marksmenship on all their part, and the non-scoped rifles don't work all the time.

I agree.

I think in that kind of terrain/brush, with animals that will just as likely charge you as run away...well...you wouldn't catch me carrying a scoped rifle there :) Maybe if i was on a tower with all the brush slash and burned for a quarter mile :)

Regarding screaming, I've heard worse from people getting stung by wasps and havign spiders on them and such. And NOT just girls, so there ya go.

One question: Where was this guy's knife?? I good solid fixed blade would have helped his chances a little, i think.

Thats exactly why I've paid thousands to go on a dangerous game hunt.:D

When these threads come up I'm always surprised and a little puzzled that a dangerous game animal, big cats in particular, get sympathy from hunters who claim to have taken deer, antelope, moose, caribou, or elk. Why is there a difference? Even Bambi would cheer for the cat hunter.

I wouldn't hunt a leopard because I don't want to shoot one from a blind over bait and that seems to be the only way to do it. If a client wounded a leopard, my PH and his tracker made the follow up alone, the client was instructed to stay near the blind. Lions though can be hunted on the ground, and I would love to get one. But when a dangerous game hunt is undertaken, it is the risk to the hunter that makes it worth doing.

I'm pretty sure if that cat was on you, you'd be screaming too. Probly louder then your wife giving birth

And shows how much you know, how well is a scope going to treat you in thick brush like that?
