.174 of an inch?
That's (I'm sorry I can only think in decimal) 0.435 centimeters.
Wow!

it was a .193

the .174 was an agg I shot in tacoma last year,

try www.wbc11.com or the world benchrest federation and then go to france link for the results I do not know how to cut and paste, or go benchrest central or benchrest.ca

Jerry, are you talking the plain and simple or the whole Gamut???????

Agg: Shoot a 5 shot group at a target, with unlimited sighters on the sighter target. Do it for 5 targets. Take the measurements from each target, add them together, the divide by 5. That is the averageof the 25 record shots.

To acclompish this feat is not as simple as just shooting at a target. It takes the BEST aftermarket equipment out there to accomplish this. Examples of this are custom actions like Bat, Kelby, Stiller etc.

Best trigger out there Jewell. Yes you can argue Anschutz. If they were that good we would be using them.

Top barrels from any aftermarket maker. A barrel is its own animal. Many of the top shooters will go thru numerous numbers of barrels to find that one barrel that is a winner. This can usually be found in as little as 50 rounds. It does not perform it is sold off as a varmint barrel. A great barrel (known as hummer) is very forgiving if you miss a condition by a couple of hours. The rumor is a rifle with a GREAT barrel is EASY to shoot. The bullets seem to know where to go even if after you have pulled the trigger and you feel confident that it will not end up in the group but it does.

Top quality stocks in Robertson, Leonard, Larson, Scollville, Scarborough.

The BEST reloading dies out there. Especially the sizing die. People will spend hundreds of dollars for a TOP KNOTCH sizing die. We may feel Redding is top or that LEE collet dies show little runout, if they were that good I would have seen one at a match I have shot at yet.

This can go on and on.

Knowing when your rifle is in tune or going out of tune by bullet hole shape. This may mean going to line with multiple loads to try after you have shot your target.

Wind flags, wind flags, wind flags. They only way to shoot those small groups or even those large ones............... :=O

Killer bullets, those appear to

How well you handle pressure, the weather conditions thrown at you, reading the wind, the ability to find and understand what the predominant condition is for a certain side of a range. Consistency at the bench and consistency with your equipment. Another big thing is having the CONFIDENCE in yourself, and your rifle that it is throwing the bullets where they are going each and every time.

It goes on and on.

The best way to experience it is to go attend a top knotch match and see what it is all about.

I was told that BR shooters are too anal. Well we are no anal than anyone else who is a fanatic of something they love.

We do not try to reinvent the wheel. We shoot the ultimate accurate caliber known today in the 6PPC.

This is a jumbled start.
