From Wolverine, thanks guys!

Put a rail on it in place of the rear sight, and put my HiLux red dot optic on. My son and I put 80 rounds through it at the EESA range to zero it in.

One word on this rifle - SWEET!!

Awsome rifle. I highly recommend this as a first time firearm. I'd like to get a few more, one for each of my kids.:D

Watch out at the next CQB, my son and I are going to kick a$$ next time!!:50cal:

Yes, yes, expected that. I'll take some photos tomorrow.

What will be fun to watch is my daughter, 27, she is shooting the 858 at the next CQB, so will my son, a family affair. I actually got it now because I figured my M14 would be a tad heavy for her.

My son and I are going to pop off some rounds at my other son's farm today, testing which sight is best. Because I'm red-green colour blind I have a real hard time with a red dot, but he loves the red dot. So battle of the wills here.

I also got double mag couplers (name?) for two sets of mags, what a difference in time savings reloading mags. The nice thing is the double mags fit inside my M14 mag pouches.

Now try that with a tac bolt release inside your rifle. You reloads will be quicker than an AR!
;)

CZ 858s are an awesome father-son bonding weapon. My 13 yr old loves shooting it. However, I had to explain to him that we weren't going to take EOTech off and throw into some mud and run over it with the jeep just to make sure that it was as tough as they say it is.....

I just picked up a Sa vz. 58 Sporter (.223). very reliable gun, 180 rounds and no jams:)

Well, we did some shooting, and guess which critter emerged. The dreaded Gremlin!!!

At first I though it was the ammo, but after a few more attemps it was clear the trigger was malfunctioning. Of course I had no clue what the F was happening or why. Stripped it and watched it happen manually. That is I could make it happen at will.

So I've been reading all about it on google searches, to CGN postings.

So which should be done, file the the striker? Weld to the reciever? Add the shim? All three? Can't shoot at the CQB with it doing this.

As for additions to the rifle. I've been told by the power-that-be that I have gone WAY over my budget for this year. So addtions I had planned for and suggestions here, will have to wait until next year. So sad...

NOTE TO MODS: That addition of the train wreck icon has moved many of the small icons off the right of the screen, inaccessable.

Think I have fixed the gremlin. I was able to reproduce the problem by moving the striker release to the right ever so slightly. The trigger would not work. So I made a brass washer to take up the slack, which is one of the solutions. Will know next weekend when I take it out for testing.

Trijicon offers amber dot that you may want to look into.

I feel your pain brother. :( However, the fix is easy! :D All you have to do is remove the sear and pull up on the sear spring, of course, dont' exceed the modulus of elasticity of the sear spring. This trick works wonders for managing the gremlin.

There is a bushing on a shaft, take the bushing off, drill brass to the right shaft diameter, file it down on the edges to make a small washer, insert that between the bushing and striker release. There should be no play in that release, what ever play there currently is, get the brass that thick. Such brass is readily available at any hobby store.
