Hi, I want to install my red dot on my SKS, and was wondering what scope mount to get between the one from BCTactical and he one from Scout Scopes. Is the installation easier on one of them? The stronger one? The price of the BCTactical is lower, but the Scout Scope don't need to be removed completely to use iron sight.

Help me please! :D

Thanks!!

I have the scout scope mount so I can only comment on it. Installation is fairly straightforward and yes, it was designed so that you can use it as your iron sight (when the rail and scope is removed). My only issue is that the integrated rail on the gas tube of my Tapco plastic stock interferes in the sight picture so it was rendered useless. Be that as it may, the fact that you need to remove the gas tube every time to properly clean your rifle makes the "no zero loss scope removal" feature very important. Not sure if this applies to BCT as well since you only mentioned the use of iron sight as a backup.

The BC Tactical is dead easy to install and rock solid, it is a bit short, but I assume I can find a rail extension... I assume that, but I actually have no idea.

Let me know if you do as I am looking for a rail extension as well. Scope choice is limited to short red dot scopes because the existing rail for Scout Mounts are also very short. I have a few scopes but only one ring can get a proper grip.

Anyone knows where we can find out?

1 has more rails but you need to remove the rail every time you want to clean your rifle and use's lots of screw's. Also honestly the notch that they take out of the mounting bracket so you can use iron sight's once the rail is off isn't that great.

The other has a short rail made for red dot's. Not so much for scout scope's unless you get a quick detach mount. As the whole idea behind this one is that you set the mount on your rifle once and never have to touch it again. Even when you have to clean your rifle you never have to worry about touching the scout mount. That is why I can't wait for them to release there model for the 858 cuz I have it on my SkS and love it.

As far as instalation I found the B.C. Tactical mount easier to instal because there were only 2 screws and 1 roll pin. Plus there YouTube video made me laugh when he hit's it with the hammer!
The other Scout Mount has 6 screws and leave maring rings on your gas block because how you have to tighten the mount on the rifle.

So all in all if you want a scout scope then I would say the Scout Mount. If you want a red dot than the B.C. Tactical mount. Either way be prepared to have fun cuz you will see this rifle shine once you ditch those stock iron sight's ;)

Got the Scout Scope mount, man this thing is sweet :D With the TRS25 red dot on it, shooting clay pigeons at 50 yards, 1 shoot 1 hit w:h:

Just need 1 size of Allan key to remove the top, only 4 screws to loosen up a bit, takes 2 seconds. The base once you zero it, put some red loctite, et voila!

Highly recommend it, its a brand new riffle now :p
