I bought a Sr22 last year and love it . but am thinking of putting a timney trigger. WAs told by my local shop that the timneys don't fit/work in the new 10/22's with the platic trigger guard. Can anyone confirm this?? Or should i just get a Volquartsen hammer and trigger kit?? any help is appreciatted.

i don't have any experience with timney's on a ruger 10/22 but have heard they don't work very good i would recommend a jard or a kidd trigger for a ruger 10/22 you can order them in 2.5,1.5 and 1lb pulls i have a jard 1.5lb trigger on my stainless 10/22T and love it,very well built and all metal parts if you don't want to spend that much then get a power custom trigger kit or volquartsen trigger kit

Don't believe a word he says, they work fine. A Timney drop in trigger was my first choice over every other aftermarket set up, and yes, I have a plastic trigger group housing. The Timney will drop your pull down to around 2.5lb and works excellent for target and everyday use. Mystic Precision may have some still, give Jerry a shout and ask him. You can find the links to his site above in the top right or pm here on this site under the same name.

Do your own trigger using your stock parts, as good as or better than any drop in stuff IMHO. PM me your email for the files if you are interested.

The trigger job that Dlask did on the Ruger plastic trigger group that came with my DAR22 is within two ounces of the pull on my VQ trigger group, so I'd second elimsprint's advice.
