I am looking for a Hornady Lnl auto press in Canada or the States(which ships). What is the cheapest price you bought/found yours for?

-Lou

Mystic Precision should be able to give you a deal if you buy a bunch of stuff, or at least he gave me a good deal when I needed a Hornady press and components.

$380.00 at Midsouth Shooters. When you're contacted by their international sales dept tell em you want it shipped USPS. USPS is just as fast and reliable as the courier outfits and a whole lot cheaper.

Natchez also has it for $380 but shipping is a killer at $80 for USPS, press is 32#.

Both Nat and MidSouth adds $10 international processing free.

Anyone know of any good store in Alberta. The Hornady site's Alberta retailer list wasn't much help.

wow $110 less than msrp at mid south

cheapest/best deal i found so far in canada is frontier firearms with free shipping and a shell plate for $550

If you do infact live in Burnaby, BC - take a drive to Burlington, WA (I-5 exit 229) and get one at WSS there, get all the dies, shellplates, manuals and other things while there.
If you happen to have AB driver's lic - they won't charge you WA sales tax (8.5% or so) either.

Fill up (gas) at Fred Myers' (exit 258) on the way back :) or any gas station on D Street in Blaine (exit 276, last one before Peace Arch).
If Can. customs wanna tax you AND charge duty - ask to speak to superintendant. It's a manual tool and is made in USA.

Any idea on price at WSS?

As to "If Can. customs wanna tax you AND charge duty - ask to speak to superintendant." what will that do.
Agree there should be NO duty for US made LNL. Pretty sure there is HST.

Gonna admit I hate going to the States even though the drive to POCO range isn't any closer. Peace Arch line ups can get really ugly.

I think the price is $429 now or so but - ask for price match.

There are several Categories of goods to import, if I'm not mistaken, the press should fall into Cat5 with no Duty but HST. Speaking with Sup.intendant should clear up Duty thingy.

Take a look at border traffic here: http://www.th.gov.bc.ca/ATIS/index.htm before you go.

US WSS site shows $429. Have doubts about PM, ran into too many stores that will only PM close by B&M stores. Recall Natz & MidSouth is many States away. If PM fails price with plate is $460 + 8.5% WA tax, that's 500. Frontier is $550 shipped. Not sure 10% / 50 bucks savings is enough. Rather spend the day at POCO.

I just wanted to let you know of another option. For you to make your own 'informed' (as they call it) decision.

Either way, I got one of those LNL APs for over 3 years, like it a lot, glad I got one instead of D650. Loaded about 30K of 9mm and 1K of .40s&w (when I got my press it used to come with 1K of free bullets, 500 now). Don't forget, if you get Hornady dies - you get some free bullets as well (I got 9mm XTP 115gr ones).

Thank you for input on the cross border option. With the internet and sites like RFD, eBay and china/HK stores the deals in WA B&M stores don't always look that good anymore.

Another option is to ship to Blaine or Point Roberts or Sumas. No US tax, shipping is fairly cheap (~$40). Getting so popular even Point Roberts custom officers are asking if you pick up any pkgs.

Too bad they cheap out down to only 500 free bullets with $20US shipping payable by money order so $25 for free bullets.

You can still get the most expensive/desireable bullets and sell them too :)

Good press. Mine (3 years ago) came with 'universal' powder measure measuring insert only, they now come with 'rifle' and 'pistol' ones, and another goodie or two - thus price change. Oh, and no more Pro-Ject - they now come with EZ-Ject system - HUGE difference - from up to 50% ejection problems down to NONE!!!

Kinda stupid all 5 boxes of 100 has to be same, a mix would've been perfect but no, Hornady is not bright enough to pick out 5 diff boxes. Highest usage is the 9mm which are also cheapest, 45s are up there. 30 cal is great but 500 is a little much. Hate the EE, too many clowns.

Glad to hear the LNL is working great for you. Stayed up to finish reading the article from acrashb, notice your comments, agree esp. for ones on BF, what happen to specific and measurable instead of personal opinions.

Another option is ship from Alberta, only GST, no HST.

We should prolly take this off line.

Either way, I'm very happy with the press and Hornady dies. Tried Lee and RCBS dies - no comparison; Hornady were much better and are the ones I still use.

Get the press, get dies, get 500 bullets you want the most and then 100 bullets on dies deal for what you wanna try.

Get it the most cost effective way for YOU.

"off line"??? Didn't realize we were off topic. Even though we're in the West Coast and the OP is in Ontario so he's anywhere near Buffalo/border same options as GVRD folks for cross border shopping or ship to parcel pickup.

I'm still waiting for responses from Alberta Hornady dealers.

Need to look into hornady dies, had plan to get the Lee deluxe 4 piece with the crimper.
