This is a Timbersmith Laminate stock , dont know if they will ship to Canukistan and they are around $250 US I believe .I have always not cared for the way the sks looked ..until I saw this one.... Damm now I want one of those too.....I sent an email inquring about dealers and the chance of them shipping to Canada but with the export rules the way they are I wont be surprised to find out they wont be available.

I've bought stocks from the U.S. before, with zero problems. Its just a piece of wood for god sakes. It was written clearly on the customs form what was in every box, and it was stamped through just like a slinky or a beach ball . I do not think there are restrictions on stocks............ I have ordered from stocky's and brownell's with zero issue. I hope this will apply to these stocks. Gee , that is one sharp lookin piece o' laminate right there.
Then again, Obama and the Dept of Justice might try to say its illegal wood like Gibson guitar company, and shut it all down. Bunch of idiots.

First off, very nice looking stock. Like it.

Second off, stocks, like EVERY other firearm part ARE restricted from export from the US. The exporter (like Stocky's and like Brownells) has to have their export permits in order to legally export them from the US. The only restriction on importing stocks into Canada (as opposed to exporting them from the US - two separate legal operations) that I know of, is you cannot import a bullpup stock because bullpup stocks are prohibited here in Canada. Bullpup firearms are not prohibited, but bullpup stocks are - go figure.

If you buy from a reputable US vendor, they'll have their paperwork in order - or they won't sell/ship it to you.

FWIW
I have seen both thumbhole and regular mated to chinese military sks's in Winnipeg. You can probably guess which store. Very nice piece of wood, and felt great. I would have taken the regular, if I were shopping. It's a huge pile of cash to put into an sks.
However, the guy selling them said it was a pretty time-consuming install on each one.
Definitely not just a simple drop in.

Well I beg to differ with you, both the thumbhole and monte carlo stocks are a tight drop in. There is no fitment concerns at all. I have both.

So can I ask whats your opinion of them ?
It sure is a nice looking stock and I can see why Fabsports is sold out
Thanks

I wrote a small review when I got the thumbhole stock and can say the same about the Monte Carlo stock.

For those of you who think you can't polish a turd, think again it can be done. At first I was skeptical about this stock thinking why is it needed will it help me in regards to ergonomics, accuracy ect ect. The only way I could shoot the SKS with any comfort was with the T6 stock which had some draw backs so I decided to try something else. The Timbersmith laminated wood stock is very well designed, it fits like a glove on both Russian and Chinese versions of the SKS. No modifications are needed, no tight spots, nothing. I do not think bedding would be required. It also incorporates the recoil lug the same as the factory stock does. The length of pull is increased from 12" to 14" over the factory stock. The accuracy is about the same for me at 100 and 200 meters with open sights and has tightened up a bit with optics. The big kicker for me was it feels so good to shoot, you are not all humped over like a monkey f*cking a football. Sure the price of the stock is the same price as the SKS, maybe a bit more depending where you buy it but if you like shooting the SKS with comfort then it is worth it.

What does this President have to do with it? He didn't put this policy in place. The wood is from a protected tree which means it's on the endangered/nearly extinct. But of course you probably think it's OK to hunt bears, wolves, and other endangered animals to extinction. Pure ####ing ignorance.
