One thing about the Tavor,, that's known but not a lot of info is posted about it. I owe someone on this site who posted this. So I'll pass it on. This makes the rifle even better.

For reloading use your shooting hand thumb for the mag release. Think open your hand, and your thumb will hit the release. Then use your weak hand to put in the new mag and use the thumb on your weak hand to hit the bolt release all in one motion. It's very slick.

Also if you have the factory rail option (ie the Picatinny rail that is now offered) then the AR quick release mounts work perfectly with this.

Keep in mind for accuracy that the Tavor is a 1:7 twist and 18.5" when chosing ammo or reloading.

My only regret with my Tavor is that I haven't spent much time shooting it. I've found however that the optics setup for my RFB also works with the Tavor so I can give it a try with higher magnification for ammo testing. I hope to get on this soon.

The MR1 isn't even in the same ballpark as the Tavor. I really wanted a MR1 to go with my Storm. After checking one out live, I passed on buying it. Too many faults with the design. At $1700 its not a bargain either. At $1000 I might have still gone for it.

Here's some poor iphone picture of the Tavor with my RFB setup on it. I have a Falcon 1.5-5x that's been collecting dust on my safe for the past 4 years, so that will go in one of these mounts and on the Tavor. Right now it's a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x that I'll use to find out which ammo it likes.

What ammo are you using in them? Also what optics do you have on them? What kind of groups are you getting, and what are you hoping for?

With my handloads in my Benelli MR-1 Amax 52 gr i get .8 to 1.2 easy all day long, WWB 45gr give and honest one inch moa. to my finding my rifle group pretty good... JP.

You will not be disappointed with the Tavor, read the Tavor FAQ and learn how to tweak the trigger. I just put the Troy claymore muzzle breaks on these 2, and they are finally complete..

Have you duel wield your Tavors in the bush yet (I say bush because I don't know any range that would allow us to duel wield. hehe)? You better be doing that when you own too!

Any tips on mastering the tavor trigger for a dimwit like me? It's my biggest gripe with the tavor

First thing you need to do is remove the spring in the trigger assembly ( Tavor FAQs) and you will get a slightly smoother pull, and then practice.... After putting some rounds downrange, you usually start to get a feel for it.

remember the Tavor has a 1/7 twist barrel 55 grain will not perform that well especially at long range . you want to shoot 62 grain or heavier .. i get the best groups with 69 gr SMKs and 25 grains of H varget powder.. The Tavor is not a precision rifle but is accurate enough for a military rifle, if you want varmint rifle type accuracy go with a Swiss Arms or a AR-15.

I figured when my Tavor get here i will install a S&B 1.4X4 Short Dot on the rail, a Sparc will also be tried, all ready bought 10 boxes of Hornady 75 gr Match and 10 boxes of Win Power Max 64 gr, i expect it to give me good grouping... Hopefully. JP.

I've never had good groups from any Hornady or Winchester factory loads in any rifles I've owned. That's not to say they won't work, but my experience hasn't been good. Federal gold 69, PMC 55, and reloads with Berger bullets have worked for me. I have one rifle that has shot 62 American eagle fairly well, but that seems to be the exception.

My best luck has been with the 63 grain stuff... RUAG GP90 has worked incredibly well, but it runs about $850.00 per 1000 rnds. You can pick it up from TSE in Calgary.
