Yep, big fan of wood look and feel. I have split/cracked and otherwise broken a lot of wood stocks over the yrs though. They just won't tolerate abuse and weather like plastic does.
Function over form.....synthetic.
Form over function.....wood.
Beauty/feel/smell/class.....well there's really no contest! lol

I like the look of the MCS forend.

You'd need these parts to make it work on standard models though.

#301186 870 FORE END 12 GA SP SYN BLACK (MCS) $34.00
#301113 FOREND TUBE ASSY – MCS 12 ga $33.60
#18634 870 FORE END TUBE NUT 12 GA $6.70

(this info is from another forum, in US dollars, and prices are four years old, the picture is not my shotgun)

I looked at the surefire but the light itself seems like crap. 1 hour battery life? With such a big piece of kit why leave so little room for power? My TLR1 puts out more lumens and lasts more than twice as long. I like the design and the location of the switch but the light itself ruins it for me.

Anybody know where to get a surefire 618 cheap? Lowest ive found in lower mainland is $375 for the 618lm, but they are out of stock. Anybody else have any leads? I do like the hogue as well but looking to upgrade to surefire.

I like the MCS, especially on really short barreled setups, but the cost is ridiculous. I'll stick with my Speedfeed LE for now.

Nothing cheaper than what I did. I called up S&J Hardware and talked to Simon and told him what NEA sugested I do.
Baught a piece of rail and PL'd it with riviets threw the screw wholes in the pump plastic piece. Been rocking it for over 2 trap creates and it's still rock soild!

The latest 2-cell LED model can do 2 hours "tactical runtime". Surefires are legos anyway you can put your own module in there to suit your needs.

I have the 318LM on my 14" and 618LF on my 18".
