If it shoots better than it looks, it can REALLY shoot! She's a beauty. Judging by the photo, it appears to have similar scope mounts like on mine.

1950's custom mauser

I acquired this 30/06 rifle from an estate a couple decades ago. It is a good example of first class gunsmithing from the 50s. It has a model 70 style safety and is fully glass bedded. I installed a dayton-traistor trigger to replace the "military" one, and I swapped the original 4x Unertle "hawk" for a 4x M8 leupold. It is a very good shooter.

Thanks Mike, and the others who commented. It is a pretty rifle, and it shoots incredibly well. Using factory 140 grainers I usually shoot a cloverleaf at 100 meters. It is nice and short too, and comes to the shoulder perfectly. Last deer shot with it was running and still got it in the heart...

There's quite a few very nice ones being posted, keep them coming!

8x57IS model 21H with original round bolt and single trigger - not sure trigger is original - built in 1950
7x64 Brenneke model 21H with new bolt & Dakota safety done by Ralf Martini and a Jaeger single trigger - built in 1950
7x57 model 22F with original butterknife bolt, dakota safety and Recknagel single trigger added by Ralf Martini. I also have the original bolt shroud and double trigger for this one so it can be restored to "original" condition. - built in 1949.
My only problem is figuring out which one to hunt with!
 
Fantastic Brnos Longwalker. I've had 3 21H's - 1 in 7x57 and the others in 8x57. I think they all came with the DST. Is the jewelling on the 22F's bolt factory?

As for hunting, I have a soft spot for the 7x57, although there certainly aren't any flies on the 7x64 or 8x57.

These are what I have, although not as fancy as the ones shown above:

This is a Brazilian action with a Hammerli barrel, a Parker Hale stock, a low swing safety and a Timney trigger. It's no longer wearing the scope pictured here. I bought it from a guy named Steve Strocher in Olds, and he did all the work himself. I think he did a real nice job. It was originally in 30-06, but because I'm prone to making questionable decisions sometimes, I had it rechambered by Rom Smith to 308 Norma mag. Anyways I like it and it works well.

I also have this one. It's a commercail sporter. A Dumoulin which is factory chambered in 308 Norma Mag. I bought it with a replacement stock on it [from a remington 798] and I put this Bell and Carleson on it. I had to do some inletting for the side safety. Its now wearing a Redfield Revolution.

I've actually tried to sell both on the EE, but nobody thought they were worth what I do.
So they sit with me. I actually had the Dumoulin out this past weekend cause I was camping with my little kids where I have seen grizzlies. I shot it a bit for fun, and, sure enough, it shot under MOA like always.

I doubt that the jewelling on my 22F is factory, but it was well done and i am considering having the same done to the somewhat tarnished bolt on my 21H 8x57. I'm not one who thinks that all classic rifles need to stay unaltered, but do believe in quality workmanship if "upgrading"

Beautiful! And thanks for confirming the origin of all the barrel hardware, stock, trigger, and floor plate on my recently acquired 7x57 lightweight sporter -- all Brno 21, but with an FN small ring action and DWM-Brazilian barrel.

I just noticed that your rifle was built by Richard Gibbs. The rifle pictured below is a .270 Win built for me by Richard in 1973-74 at a cost of $300.00. The action has no marking but I believe it's a FN Columbian 98. The barrel is a Douglas premium and the trigger is a Dayton-Traister. IIRC, Richard told me the stock is Circassian walnut.

I dont know much about it but its been in the family for a while, Iv taken a few bucks with it. 6.5x55 swede almost sold it to buy mini 14 mags, I smartend up and sold my old crossbow instead haha. Any one have any info (can take better pictures if needed). It has husqavarna stamped nearly under the scope mounts. My friends have a few old husq's rifles.
