Hi All, this is my first home defense shotgun and after some google research, I think the Cougar might be a good choice. Having know it is only $299 from Moregunssupply, I bought one from them. Afterwards, I know Moreguns has been kick out from here!! Honestly speaking, my first experience with them is excellent, good communication and fast shipping. Order it on Sept 2, at my front door on Sept 7. Don't forget we have a long weekend and I live in Toronto. Here are some pictures:

The finish is typical Norinco, rough but sturdy.

But one thing I do notice; the trigger guard assembly is not flush with the he bottom of the gun. Did other Cougar has the same problem? I know it won't affect the function, but it's just annoying...

However, I'm happy with the gun at this price. Can anyone share your experience with this gun?

Home defence eh. Might not be a great thingf to announce it. But who am I to judge? I like the look of the shotgun though.

removable choke? can you take the fore end off to show the gas system?

the trigger and stock not fitting flush are uh, not encouraging I guess.

Now, I'm not a production/name/where its made type of guy, but paying $299 for a new, semi auto shotgun with parts not fitting correctly troubles me just a little....

I just bought 2 rifles from Moregunssupply a few days ago (still to be delivered)...why were they kicked off this board?

hmmm..... threatening members with the CFC. Shipping rifles in plastic bags, sending people ammo who didn't have an PAL. there are tons of threads about it, a search or two will reveal it. There's more than a few members with less than pleasant experiences, myself included.

It is legal to defend your home with a firearm in Canada if need be, it doesnt matter if you keep quiet or not.

Ya, tell that to a judge. I'm not saying your wrong but if I was a betting man, the legal system would nail your ass to the wall more likely then let u off for shooting an invader in your home with a firearm that was announced on a public form to be designated for home self defence.

Any chance of keeping the discussions of Norinco tacticrap and home defense fantasies in the black and green shotgun forum where they belong? Or do some of the big thinkers here believe home defense falls into the "sporting" category.

I also got one of these cougars from Canada ammo. Shipping was fast enough and the communication was fine. However, I too noticed the fit of trigger on my gun. The inside of the forearms look like it was chiseled out by some 12 year old with a dull chisel. It cracked after shooting a few magnum slugs. Lack of a instruction manual was a problem as there is no o ring like a Remington so I put one in from home. After cycling problems I contacted Canada ammo and they informed me no o ring was required.
The choke supplied is the same threads as a Remington but the skirt length seems to be different. I'll check into this more.
Reliable feeding and ejection was a problem with short brass target loads but cheap Wichester slugs went through well and very accurate.
All in all, yes it was cheap. But you get what you pay for. :bangHead:
