Stocks for M14 rifles ...

Thanks Doc:) It is pretty cool watching it take shape. The smallest thing I'd ever fiberglassed before this was a 500 gallon fish tote so my technique on the stock left a lot to be desired:D As messy and as dusty as it was sanding it I'm pretty satisfied overall.

Looks like I'm going to have to scrounge a handguard from someone. You'd think that with all the Sages and other stocks I've done I would have a spare one lying around; alas, no joy and I don't want to paint the one on my rifle.

After painting, installing the selector and a bottom rail it should be finished in 2 to 3 weeks (I hope) and I'll be sure to post some pics.:D
 
Too bad we weren't neighbors, you and I in my prototyping shop would be fun times hehehe
Hard to find folks with the skills and eye/feel for this kind of work.

You bet, that would be a lot of fun. Best part about it is really enjoying what you do and watching your work progress. Hopefully one day I'll be in your neck of the woods and we can talk shop and share some beers:wave:

Base coat was Marsh Grass

When it comes to camo I am not much of an artist.:( I used what I had on hand this time instead of stencils. Mostly Mountain Ash sprigs and twigs. With the Dragunov buttstock not much detail could be painted and probably would have looked much better on a USGI stock

Next time I think I'll use my airbrushes and stencils instead of rattle cans and leaves:).

I also have a handguard coming that I will paint to match. When it's complete I'll post some pics with it all together.

She's a looker all right! I especially love the matching handguard; you don't see many stock makers paying that much attention to detail very often.

Yea, I hope they are willing to ship to Canada... on the website it says they are on back order for a couple of months as well...

USGI stock with the selector filled in, "kevlar reinforcement" and well I am guilty of wanting it because it looks good. I am soooooo shallow :p

but if I can get one up here from the states, the price is right.

Can't tell the differance between these 2 except 1 is a chop mod USGI fiberglass stock with a folder made in the states and the 1 below is made in Canada how you like it & the folding device is optional.

one of my favorite builds to date and man does she handle. :D

The design started from a Mcmillan design but was then modified to have a better sight line with a scope. I'm really impressed with Bob's work and highly recommend him. He was A+ to deal with all the way.
