Since the CPC got in, I've been saying that as soon as the registry is gone, I will purchase a quality, lightweight hunting rifle. I have a couple already (Rem 700, M70), but this one will have special meaning to me.
Criteria: Synthetic stock, stainless, short action, lightweight with a cost of no more then $2000. This rifle will be used in the field as my spot and stalk rifle.
Of course, a Kimber Montana in .308 would be the obvious choice, but what other rifles should I consider?
Let me know what you think. Thanks.
