How to create a last resort slug out of buckshot

Its an old trick around here, but one wonders why you wouldn't just have a few slugs with you, rather than making a poor man's Glazer Safety Slug. As a spur of the moment field expedient solution to an unexpected threat, it leaves something to be desired as it takes longer to cut the shells, then it does to chamber a slug. Under most circumstances you would use up your bird-shot shells before you used up your slugs. But if you find yourself out in the back country and realize that the plane just left with your slugs, you'll do what you need to do.
