Reloading for the .444 with FTX bullets

I managed to score some Hornady .44 225 gr. Flex Tip bullets- Thank you, Henry! They are for my son's .444 Marlin. I have reloaded for him with the more conventional bullets, ie., 265 gr., etc but have not loaded for the Flex Tip in the shorter cases.

Does anyone have any favorite loads for this bullet in the .444 Marlin? Would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.
 
Rugerman, you may wish to check, but aren't the .444 FTX's 265 gr vs the .44 mag bullets which are 225gr. Hope I'm wrong, but I did the exact same thing the other way around and am now using my 265 ftx's in my smokepole.
The crimp can. will be off. Again, I hope they work for you.......

Oh Gawd! I ordered them a very long time ago. They were back ordered forever and when Henry notified me I figured, Hmmmm, I thought they were 265 grs.. Must have forgot. Well thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it. There are two cannelures on that 225 gr. .44. I was wondering if one of them would work in the shorter .444 Marlin cases?

Or, do you want to trade some bullets? How many bullets do you have left? Just wondering. Let me know.
 
Rugerman, I probably have at least 40 left in the box of 50. Likely more like 45. I'm in London Ont area, but there often. No problem, I'll trade if you want and we can arrange it without too much shipping. You may find that second cannelure works for you too unless you want the heavier bullets.........just let me know what works for you.

I also have a bran new box of ~50 265gr FTX, unless I lost 1 or 2. I would like to trade them for your 225gr as I have a 44 mag and 265gr was not designed for 44 mag. Let me know if you haven't made the deal with the gun nutz
