.300RUM trying something new

I have been using Nosler Accubond 200 grain against AA3100 and it works, however I want to try something new. Load will help me with moose hunting up to 500yr

Oh No! Please tell that story!

Not much to tell really.....the bullets pretty much become a grenade at that MV....they just don't hold together.

A 20' shot should be a guaranteed quick kill, but after that shot the moose just took off across the cut with a 5-pin bowling-ball sized crater.....it looked like she got hit with a load of 7 1/2 shot. :( A follow up to the high neck dropped her, but it's still not something I'd like to repeat. If I still had that gun I'd be shooting either partitions or X's.

No, not the accubonds. I was replying to the OP.

That said, I can't see the accubonds (or any bonded bullets) being much better at that range/velocity.

I load for longer range shooting and have never fire at moose at close.
IMO both should work fine at close distance, but I will give Scirocco an edge, it is a better quality bullet.
