Medved is internally the same. Externally it's a hunting rifle. Don't even close to military look. Legal status in Canada non-restricted. Medved is excellent quality "handmade" on special order only rifle. Hence it’s expensive. At the soviet times it was only available to big bosses of communist party.
 
What I don't understand about that list is why certain guns are even on it? How is the SPAS 12 gauge deadlier than any other semi-shotgun? Just because you can manually work it if the gas system breaks?

Probably because it's a semi and it holds how many shells? 8 or 9?
 
The SPAS-12 was prohibted because some senator saw Terminator and it scared him too much so we can't have it. They saw the name SPAS-15 which meant it was +3 scarier than the SPAS-12 so they banned it too.

To the OP, Interammo has the Medved which is the closest you'll get.
 
the thing that pisses me off about the dragunov being prohib is that it shares no parts with the kalashnikov so it is not a variant, it was not built for FA fire so it's not a converted auto there is no legitimate reason for it to be prohib.

Because God kills an orphan every time someone shoots a Dragunov.

There is no rhyme or reason for these idiotic regulations. Trying to attach reason to why something is prohib and something else is not is futile and causes much frustration. The whole prohib list needs to be scrapped by the current Conservative government and everything needs to be non-restricted again. Simple as that.
 
When was there any sense in firearms regs? Look at that AR lookalike shotgun they restricted! You read that right they called it a variant. You could put the carry handle from an AR on this shotty and the RCMP said Aww heck nawww!!
