Offering an opinion is fine.....where you fail is your unwillingness/inability to defend it.

So tell me....exactly *why* and *how* is an 88 superior to the marlin? (In your opinion of course)

I've owned pretty much every lever made (including the 336ER :) )....Marlin, Winchester, Browning, Savage, Ruger.....and in MY opinion the Marlins are the best of the bunch.

Here's why: Rock solid construction, from the thick walled tubes to the stock bolt. An action which is slicker than snot on a doorknob. A pistol grip that is second to none for comfort. The inability to kill the things...pack it full of sand and it just makes the insides shiny :). 100% reliable ejection, etc. etc. etc.

OK, your turn....prove you are not just #### disturbing and back up your opinion. Saying "there's better" and then not offering a reason is completely useless.

We get it, you're all hung up on the Winchester 88/100 stuff.

Been there on both accounts and not my cup of tea......:rolleyes:

Iam actually drinking a cup of tea,and reading these replies.Seems if you have a differing opinion,you are busting in,as if you should not be on this site because your opinion and experience,is not valid.Sorry boys.I have met fellows like this before,tolerate them and move on.I have Marlins,Brownings,Winchesters,Savages and most others.Some are good,some not so good,but I still have them, shoot them, and enjoy them for the most part.I should pm you, to see if I can participate in these discussions.My mistake.

You are blowing this all out of proportion, all that was asked is for you to support your opinion on why the Winchester 88 is better then the Marlin. But you have chosen to put your back against the wall and complain that your being attacked because your opinion is different from the others. Maybe you should calm down and just explain why you feel the Winchester 88 is better then the Marlin. Then I'll explain to you why I feel the Ruger M77 tang safety if far superior to any other firearm out there.

OH and I'm drinking coffee is it matters.........:)
 
Iam not blowing anything, at the moment.Never said the winchester is better than the marlin.My back is not against the wall,rather my chair.Did not say i was being attacked nor did I feel like I was being attacked.My opinion sometimes differ from others,and probably yours.Iam as calm as can be.Iam drinking tea,again.Explain to me why your gun is better than all others....

Since I have had surgery (by-pass) and it's going to be a long time before I can even think of pulling my bow. So I found a Marlin 336 30-30 to trade it for. This would be the 10th one, I got to keep this one this time. Unless someone is willing to trade me for a Ruger tang safety in 25-06......:)
