I recently bought the rear peep sight and front fiber optic sight for the cz 858, I put the rear sight in, but am slightly clueless as to how to do the front sight

Is there a specific tool I need? If so where can I buy it/ can I make it.

P.S. the rear peep sight seems to be sitting a tiny tiny bit high (I could be imagining it). How would I go about fixing this, is it normal?

Does the gas port cleaning pick in your cleaning kit have a slot on the non-pointy end? If it does, that's the elevation adjustment tool. You can spin the front post out with it, or cut a slot in the end of a bolt with a Dremel and use that.

The slot in the FO sight post will need to be spread to engage the threads in the front sight drum. Stick a flat-bladed screwdriver in the slot and give it a whack with a hammer to spread the slot open. Match the width to the post you removed.

Thankyou very much.. unfortunately I don't have the original cleaning kit for my rifle. I am going to buy an sks front sight adjustment tool. One thing I am slighty confused by, are you sayng that the FO front sight post is too big? or too small? for the front sight drum.

Where did you get that peep sight?

The FO sight post needs to have that slot expanded to fit properly.

Once you get the original post out, spin the FO sight in with your fingers. You'll notice it's loose and has some wiggle. Expanding the slot tightens it up and keeps it from moving when you don't want it to.

I just had the same issue, my cleaning kit didn't have the front sight tool. But I found this works great. Used it to install my NEA tritium front sight.

For anyone that needs to replace there stock front sight I have found a tool that makes it super fast and simple. It is a #8 spanner insert bit.

It works really well installing the NEA tritium front sight. Just use it like any other screw driver, put the front sight in the middle and turn it out. Then put the new one in the middle and turn it in.

It is almost like it was made to do this job.

Hope this helps
