What we have hear is a 270 wsm.
I built her from the ground up and she seems to be doing rather well.
Built on a savage long action.
Thanks goes out to Tim H for the action
and Also Thanks to Juanvaldez for the barrel.

maybe after hunting season is over ill sell this rifle and start another :D

its only a 100 yards but believe me when i say that i wasn't really trying for benchrest testing. that was shooting over a 2x4 with a little carpet :) believe me i was pleasently suprised when i first took it out to the gun range. anything i have feed this gun will easily shoot under a moa.

The idea of a set of rattling antlers which also double for a tripod might not be such a bad idea ;)

Forget the rings take a gander at the barrel nut :)

Must not of had my glasses on. If you look closer it's a quad-pod!

yes you are right :) sadly i must say it was a shed that i stubbled apon. just means he is probaly around for this season.

Yes the rings are like you said a cheap set that was kickin around. they will upgraded i think to the zee i think.

Archie! care to do a 5 shot 350 yard grouping together with a small wager? ;)

Those rings where actually initially marketed by B Square I believe, and they have also been marketed by Bushnell. Leupold is currently marketing them.
They are not the nicest looking, and they are not expensive, but I have had them on many rifles, and have never had issue. I how use almost exclusively steel rings (Leupold dual dovetail), but I'll have to admit that aluminum rings hold up well.
The problems that people seem to have with aluminum rings is either over tightening, under tightening, or cross threading. once the threads in aluminum rings become stressed, they are farr less forgiveing than steel threads.

I thought ####ography was not permitted on CGN. Mods. where are you?

Ya, I'm jealous.....

funny i never got around to changing those horrible rings in time for deer season, yet they didn't let me down when the little spike trotted down the field line at 325 yards. just tunked the elbows into the knees and dropped him where he stood while seating in my comfy black lawn chair.

i had to put down my loius la'mour but i beleive it was well worth it.

the 130 gr 1970 -1990 game kings that i whipped up into a tack driving combo worked just fine.

now that the big game hunting has become hinder sight. quickly changed my barrel last monday to my 6.5 wsm for the "dog" population reducution.

perhaps ill shall attemp to post a pic some time and perhaps others can post their 'yote culling tools.
:) best of luck to others in seasons to come
