3 band Snider MkII**, DC marked (Dominion of Canada) and regiment marked to the 49th Hastings Volunteer Battalion of Rifles based in Belleville, ON. The 49th Hastings was an Infantry Battalion when first formed in 1866, but was redesignated as a Rifle Battalion in 1871.
The bore is pretty good. A little frosted near the muzzle but strong rifling throughout.
The bayonet (came with the snider) seems to be marked to the 74th Battalion, New Brunswick Rangers, Rifle No. 100.
Rather happy with this one. Will go nicely with my EIC F Pattern musket, BC Regiment marked Martini MkIII and my Brunswick rifle
Oh... and the original P1853 musket it was converted from was made in 1864 according to the lock plate.
