1966 Colt Industries Pyrodynamics CS/Flare Pen gun.

Apparently mentioned via page 567 "The Book of Colt Firearms"

These were apparently issued to the troops overseas in Vietnam as well as to the public back in the day. Anyone ever seen one before or have one. I just have the gun itself nothing more. Lost the kit itself about 35 years ago.

Pretty neat little unit, love to order the flares for it.

Thought you might enjoy some pics of it before I get rid of it.

Seen one very similar, but blued, with a tear gas cartridge, which appeared to be activated by a shotgun primer. Prohibited weapon, as I recall ????

Grizz

I have something just like that but it is in an orange plastic. I put .22 rimfire blanks in there and fire flares, bear bangers, fire works, etc out of it. It's pretty cool, I work with kids and we do a lot of stuff outdoors... they are always bugging me to try it.

I do not know about yours but some of those were made to shoot a bullet, like the pen gun that was given to gov. staff that could not carry a weapon!
