Could I get a nice 20-round magazine for this?

Mag would have to be made and marketed specifically for that rifle only (even though it would fit AR's) and even then it probably wouldn't get approved because then everyone would have them in their AR's.

Unless it's a LAR-15 PISTOL magazine, he's stuck at 5 max because it's an AR RIFLE mag.

It's not the gun in which it fits, it's the gun for which it was made. The LAR-15 is a pistol, hence 10 rounds with its dedicated, labeled-as-such mag.

Since Mossberg has advertised it as taking AR mags, the RCMP will rule that any mag that works in it will also be considered an AR mag. This is what they did for the pump action Remington rifle to avoid just the situation that OP is looking for.

But if Mossberg made a 20 round mag that was included with that rifle, we could all kill puppies with normal cap mags in our AR's right?

No. The 7615 (I think it was) was advertised as using AR mags, the same as the Mossberg. The RCMP ruled that even if Remington made purpose built mags for it, they would still be considered as AR mags and limited to 5 rounds. :bangHead:
