I have a friend that has a Savage Axis XP. He does not have the accutrigger. We were at the range today and he was very impressed with the accutrigger on my 110BA. Now, I plan on getting a Rifle Basix trigger for my 110BA to replace the accutrigger. My friend sugguested that he would buy my take off accutrigger for his Axis XP. Does anyone know if this will work? Will the accutrigger off my 110BA fit his Axis XP? His Axis is chambered in .308 while my 110BA is .338.

Thanks,

PA

Should have done some Googling before posting this question but the general concensus is no, an accutrigger can not be installed in an Axis without some major fitting, it is not a drop in replacement. I did read that a Rifle Basix or Timminey can be installed although I think that would be out of my friends price range.

I would still appreciate any input or sugguestions anyone has.

Thanks,

PA

replace the trigger?

The Savage Axis trigger system and mounting is different from the Savage 110 Accu-trigger system, and it would take a major amount of work to make one fit and function safely and properly. The cost would probably be almost as much as buying another rifle.

The Axis was designed as an entry level, moderately priced hunting rifle. As such, there are a lot of changes and differently designed parts than the 110 type rifles.
