Has anyone seen any Ruger 338 RCM cases in Canada yet?

I have been looking for a medium size case to neck up to .375" cal and like the design of this case.

Has anyone necked up this case to .375" cal yet?

I've been searching the net for a while now but can't find any info on if this wildcat has even been tried yet.

I thought we'd have seen more wildcats on the Ruger cases by now too.
Full length and short action.
Obviously the WSM's being so popular isn't helping the RCM's any.
A 375-300 WSM doesn't turn your crank?

I think the shorter case body but longer neck of the RCM would be a better than the max'd case capacity and short neck of the WSMs. I prefer the design of the RCM (and SAUM) to the WSM :)

I think mine was one of the first in Canada, bought it with 200 cases and at that time nobody made dies yet, nor could I find factory ammo on this side of the Border. Finally after cobbling handloads together for several months Hornady sent me some dies.
My brother in the Yukon had the same situation with his 375 Alaskan, had it months before anyone else and nothing was available.

Bumping this up still thinking of a 375X338RCM wildcat plus I have a left handed Dr buddy that is looking for a rifle/cartridge combo that would be good for hunting + carry for defense when hiking.

How is 338RCM brass/ammo availability now and are there left handed rifles chambered in the 338RCM that come with iron sights?

Did pick up about 125 emptys of 338 RCM and about 85 emptys of 375 RCM last week at the range, got my cases if i ever get one of those rifle... JP.

If you neck up a 325wsm case up to 375, you will get a longer case neck than the smaller wsm's, just due to the amount of the case shoulder you are now turning into neck. You should end up with plenty of case neck once you get up to 375. You would end up with a case neck of 0.322". A 338 rcm would end up with a .357 neck length. Is 0.035" actually an issue in neck length?

I'll ask that differently... :D

Are there any stainless steel left handed rifles that have factory iron sights that are chambered in 338RCM...

The 375 Ruger is more cartridge case than I want I already shoot a 21" barreled T/C Contender in 375JDJ = 260gr Accubonds @ 2300fps and a 21" barreled Rem 700 LSS in 375RUM = 260gr Accubonds @ 3020fps & 350gr TSX reduced to 2450fps.

I'm looking for a 3rd beltless cased 375 cal cartridge that will give me 2650fps with 250gr TTSX or 260gr Accubonds in a 21" barrel.

I will receive an all weather 338RCM in a couple of months. Got 4 boxes of ammo for it. Cases I would like to buy some if available.

I have seen a 6.5/300RCM The guy who did it is here and from Alberta. It is called 6.5 extreme.

Camp Cook - For a few years now I have been hovering over making myself a 35/338RCM or a 35/300RCM - they are different case dimensions and lengths. That velocity from a 21" barrel with a 375/338RCM will be a challenge to reach I think maybe (?). The 375 WSM which has a far greater case capacity can make that - but only just - with sane loads.

Kevan was nice enough last February to send me a half dozen of his stash of 338RCM cases - thank you lots Kevan - so I could neck them up and check for myself the actual capacity of a 35/338RCM creation. The 35/300RCM may have a very slight edge in case capacity but long bullets like you are proposing may (?) benefit from the shorter 338RCM's 2.015" case length. Although for some reason the virgin brass measures between 2.004" and 2.006" and when necked up to 35cal it only is 2.001" - bit less yet necked to 375.

I built a 350WSM years ago which makes 2740 with 250s with top loads from a 22" barrel. It's worked out GREAT.

But this is where the rubber meets the road;

35Whelen - approx 70grs water capacity 2.494
350RemMag - approx 71grs water capacity 2.170
35/338RCM - 71.4 grs water capacity - fired case at 2.001" (my results)
35/300WSM - 84.3 grs. water capacity - fired case at 2.091" (my results)
358 Norma - approx 88 grs. water capacity 2.519

Neck em all to 375 for your comparisons yet the basic differences in case capacities remain.

I decided against the 35/338RCM idea because only one manufacturer of brass and maybe supply would be a problem. Secondly it was soooooo close to the short action 350 RemMag in performance though the case design is very good - probably better I think. I already have a few too many 350RemMags.
