is the law passed already or still in speculation?
If you owned the gun and received a letter you then must get the magazines verified to prove they are pinned to 10 rounds. Some people still haven't though and when they try to transfer the firearm they must answer to where their 25 round mags are if they say they dont have them, and if they do have them they must be verified before the transfer will go through.
Ask me how I found this out the hard way just today.![]()
This is a sad day. I hope it is not the last day your kids can shoot 25. Things really need to change in this country.![]()

What if you had destroyed it and threw the debris in the trash? That's what I would have done if I couldn't pin it.
Just get a 50 rd. Black Dog drum.
Even better.
I bought an M&P 15/22 after the 10rd magazine ruling came into effect.
I have only had the firearm for less than a month. The gun came with a pinned 25rd magazine. The seller ( SFRC ) has complied with the new regulation by pinning the magazines themselfs. Received my letter from the RCMP giving me my three options to do with my suposed 25rd magazine.
Phoned CFC to tell them the magazine is already pinned to 10rd's. They told me to get SFRC to fax them the proof that the magazine was pinned.
The point I am trying to make is the sellers of M&P's are aware of the rules on magazine capacity. They are selling them with pinned magazines. So when will be the cut-off date for gun buyers so that they will not have to go through the hassle of proving the magazine that came with their purchase is legal.
Note: RCMP were faster getting me my magazine notice than UPS was shipping me the rifle.
Tell them to go eff themselves. Its not your responsability to prove what someone else has done. Don't take this crap, if you comply it'll only show them that they can step on our toes however they want. If SFRC are modding the mags, they are the ones who need to deal with the RCMP directly, theres no reason for you to be the middle man and waste your time over this. You bought a rifle in all legality, after the mags were deemed prohibited. Period. Why should you be responsible for what a retailer is selling???
When is it that gun owners will grow a backbone and stop accepting being treated like #####es??
