Anyone use packaged Deer feed

Just curious, I saw some at Bass Pro for $16 a bag and wondered how well if it works at all. Sales guy swears by it but not sure I trust his judgement!!

I have used the "Rolling Acres Deer Corn" at TSC store. It has been mixed with molasses so tends to gum up an automatic feeder. So, I mix it 50/50 with cracked corn; also from TSC Deer and bears seem to like it...plus crows, bluejays and racoons.

How big was the bag? The local co-op sells 25KG bags of corn/barley/molasses for $12 which works really well but gets mouldy if its rainy/cloudy.

You will get a whole lot more corn at your local co-op for $16 than you will with that packaged feed, and with the corn you will know for sure the deer will like it, whereas with the packaged stuff you never know for sure. Corn also toughs out the wet weather a lot better.

You can buy a bag of sheep feed and get the same thing also.My deer seem to like it.Get the ewe or the lamb grower with the ewe feed being somewhat cheaper.

I use a feed called Beef Ration, it is corn, oats and I think alfalfa pellets already mixed with molasses and minerals. Deer love it. Should be available at most feed stores like Co op and Agrico etc.

Tried it. No better than corn with molasses powder from the feed store. But a lot more expensive.

I have used the liquid apple put it out the week before hunting starts,and freshen up the night before deer season.I pour it on a stump you will get a shot if there are any deer in the area.Go in early they will run away and return in the dark.Should be against the law??????Shoot when legal !

Go to co op and buy hen scratch or corn. You will get twice as much product for 5 bucks less. Bag of hen scratch which is around 50 pounds for 12 bucks at local co op. It was last three weeks.

I feed deer 365 days a year...Alfalfa, Corn, Mollasses, Apples, Carrots. We went thru 36 bins of apples this year/ 22 bushels per bin. I also grow 40 acres of Red Clover, food plots, turnips, chicory,sweet corn, pumpkins....we have LOTS of whitetails

I don't feed deer mainly because I don't own the property but its mostly corn fields and there's plenty of the ground after its harvested

I feed corn and molasses from TSC in the early season, then whole corn. Also about 20 bushels of apples mixed in there too.

I bought a bag of that stuff too when it was on sale for $12 and the deer INHALED it. I would suggest mixing it with cracked corn or something like that to make it go further. My experience was that they love it and I recommend it.

They call it beef fattener locally, same stuff and deer love it.
