Quick question for you guys, what are you using for an OAL with the setup above?

My manual shows 2.775" with that bullet and when I do that the ogive is in the case, I mean at the mouth of the case I am on the taper down to the point. Doesn't seem right to me at all, but I guess it could be.

Would like to strech it out, don't think I'll hit the lands in my 308 mauser but you never know...
 
Make a dummy round and find out where your lands are.

Guessing that most are running the 155 Palma's .015-.020 off the lands and not bothering with "Book Length"
 
Yeah I went looking for the lands, puts me about 2.850" at .020" off, I think I'll start there, just wondering if it was weird that the book length would bury the bullet so far!

I guess the question to ask is if your cases are trimmed to 2.005" as the Sierra manual recommends?
Using my Lee trimmer stud leaves me witha trimmed case length of 2.011 which is shorter than maximum cartridge length but far from the Sierra recommended trim length.

Case length has nothing to do with seating deepth or OAL. I trim my .308 to 2.000" and have let the grow to as much as 2.015" before timming them again.

As far a OAL with 155 Sierra Palma's .020" off the lands work with either the old 155 Palma's or the new 155 Palma's.
 
I was shooting them at 2.80" OAL but your results may vary.

For reference, SA mag box length in a R700 is 2.835". I don't think there is much of a difference in the other makers.
 
For general purpase matcha mmo, I load the Sierra to 2.800 This is just about on the rifling with a new Obermyer Match chamber and off the rifling with all others.

if I can load for a particular rifle, I start at 20 thou off the rifling, which can be 2.825" to 2.900", depending on the rifle.
