Stupid TRG wrecked my Ladder Test by shooting everything into .5moa :mad: :bangHead: I hate when that happens.

So I loaded up 10 rds. of 300gr. SMK's over H1000, they progressed from 88-92.5 grains in .5gr. increments.
I raced out yesterday afternoon for an impromptu ladder test however I could only shoot to 300 yds. I knew this was a little short distance wise for .338 lapua but figured what the hell.
Well my ladder test was a flop but I was amazed that the gun held .5moa with TEN rds. and 5 grains of powder difference between the first and tenth shot fired.
However even more amazing was that the first 3 went into .48" :eek:

This experience kinda makes me wonder why I bother painstakingly trickle charging my powder charges when this group was shot with 5 gr. difference.:D

X2. Personally I have yet to see a Sako TRG that won't do 1/2 MOA or better - IMO they are the best value factory rifles out there. Both of mine are great shooters ( pity I have to sell one but bills, darn bills..... )
 
You will find that your trg will shoot that same group at 14,000 ft above sea level on the equator, or at sea level in the north pole. These are the most consistent rifles on the planet. There is not a custom made that can shoot that well in the same variety of conditions. Awesome rifles.

You are right, these rifles are extremely accomodating.

Seems to matter little whether it's the first shot or the fifty'th, clean barrel or dirty, these rifles keep stacking them on top of each other.

That is a great shooting rifle.

What makes these rifles so accurate wIth a variety of loads. conditions etc.

Is the trg action and barrel the same as other sakos, tikkas or are they designed and manufactured differently?
