Has anyone heard results of the recent elk hunt yet?

Just came back from my annual moose hunt and thought by now there would be info on the net relating to the new elk season.

Am surprised that who ever shot the first elk didn't rush to the net to inform the rest of us.

Come on, surely someone knows what happened!

There would have been a lot more if the genius's at MNR hadn't tried to wipe them out in the late 70's around Burwash.Blamed the elk for a disease that was spread by cattle to the elk.............Harold

The local Bancroft MNR office had heard of 18 Elk harvested at the end of the hunt.
Once the harvest forms are returned they will know exactly how many were shot.

My chum shot a nice 7X7 about 15 minutes into the hunt but there wasn't a mandatory check station so I don't think you will ever have an accurate count of how many were harvested. I don't understand why they wouldn't have had a mandatory check station on a hunt that is localized and with the limited number of tags issued it would have given true data.

I've been asking myself the same question. Weird decision from the MNR

my brothers gang shot a huge 6x6. Checking them into a station wasnt mandatory but im sure they have to fill out a report and send it in, so they should get a count on how many were harvested.

No check station ? And this is a suprize for some of you ?
You propably don't realize this but MNR stands for
Ministry of No Results.
