Glock recoil spring weight

I believe the factory weight for all Glocks except the sub compacts is 17lbs. The Subs being 18 lbs. Personally, I run 20lbs springs.

Thanks guys.

curtmg- ya much of the reading I've done states that the factory spring is the best. My rod guide is busted so I was looking to replace the rod and spring assy and was wondering what the factory weight was.

I thought Glocks were perfect as original? :nest:

I never said they were perfect, they're just closer to perfect than the rest. They will function for many many rounds and many years right out of the box. I personally think the 17lbs spring is a little light. A heavier spring offers faster lockup times and more force when feeding. Naturally when you change springs you need a new rod as well.
