Bought an older 1100, took the barrel off, looked at it (took nothing else off or apart) then tried putting the barrel back on, but the bolt won't release from the forward position. Trying to avoid a complete disassembly, I know it must be something obvious and thought I'd ask before goin it alone. Thanks! Feel free to poke fun :p

Instead of using the operating handle, pull rearward on action bar assembly. It may help to point the action "muzzle" down.

You'll have to take it back apart (takes about 5 minutes).

Did you put the ring on upside down?

regardless, #### the bolt before putting the barrel on from now on, or at least hold it back.

Try pressing the chrome release on the bottom where you feed the shells unto the mag tube while pulling the bolt back.It should come back and lock in place. Then put the barrel back on.

If you press the carrier release on the bottom where you load the magazine, inside there is a spring lever that you have to push on tto bring the bolt back to coked position. Sounds like when you took the barrel off the bolt got a little jammed. Make sure in the future when you take the barrel off to have the bolt back.
