.308 if you are hunting before noon, anything after that I'd go with the 7mm.

I don't know why people keep asking these questions.

Anybody with a lick of sense knows that a .308 will bounce right off a moose.

Liable to come right back and take your eye out.

You need something that has a high falutin' name like "WSSM" or "RUM"...then you can shoot two or three moose at a time if you line 'em up right. Length ways or cross ways, doesn't matter. Hell, most times they die of fright when they find out you're coming....
