Hey guys, I'm looking into purchasing my first entry level IPSC gun. I was looking at the glock however a lot of people are telling me because they are so light they are bad for beginners because of muzzle climb and it damaging target acquisitions while firing multiple shots. Is this the case? Am I better off getting a cz75? Thanks.
i uses a 17 in ipsc too. true that there's a fair amount of muzzle flip, specialy if you use factory ammo. on the other hand, if you're unable to shoot it decently doesn't mean you're going to shoot better with a steel pistol automatically.
realize that ipsc targets are posted at 7-10-15-and sometimes 25 metres away.
alphas zone aren't like bullseye targets,it's a larger area.
my point is,glocks can be worked out to reduce the recoil felt, but you might want to reload your own ammo , and working on FPS .
anyways, i'm delighted by the lightweight of those guns and find it's an advantage for me,reaquisition/follow shots are instinctives. many experienced shooters wins championships at national levels with those plastic guns, they must not be so bad lolol..
also, glocks haven't obstructive controls in the path of your grip, wich for me is great because i have large hands, so that's a plus for me.
it's all a matter of what works for you,or not. mine has grip tape, a stainless steel rod, a 13 spring, and after market sights, and i love it altough i'm going standard this year, for some reason i shoot my glock better than my shadow , exactly because i feel i get a better grip
