I can't wait for this to show up. It's a 1918 Eddystone. I can't believe the price jump in these minty ones in the last few years. The CMP in the states are selling parts rifles for 450 bucks....I remember a time you could get a handpicked one from SIR catalogue for 149 bucks.

I just picked up a great 98 Krag and have a nice 03 Springfield so an 1917 Enfield is next on my list. Has it been arsenal refinished? Doesnt look like it. Looks great! Will you shoot it?

It's going moose hunting with me when it shows up :) It has been shot by the previous owner so nothing to lose there. I am not sure if it has been through refurb, I won't know until it arrives. Apparently the bore is mint and original. I have never seen one this good (and I have had a couple excellent condition ones). For some reason the 1917 is my favourite milsurp. After all it's what Sgt York won the medal of honor with.
 
Dave- If you just bought that rifle from 6167...I have fired it. It is a beautiful rifle!
I really liked it. You will not find a better one. You bought well!

You can't make it jam, it cycles rounds like butter.

Indeed I did! I can't wait to get it! Hopefully I will be posting in the Hunting section of a picture with me and a nice bull moose with this rifle ;)
 
I got it and it's better than it looks. The bore is absolutely mint save for one tiny miniscule (maybe 50 thou) dark spot about 2/3 the way up the barrel. I don't know if this rifle was ever issued or refurbed. Anyone know what the refurb mark would be on one of these? All the parts are Eddystone marked and none of the screws look like they have ever been turned and are encased in cosmo.

Now you've got a problem b'ye...you're going to have to watch out for Beauty when you're moose hunting...how about one of those sweaters people put on dogs in the winter, or maybe wrap it in bubble wrap? :D;)

It's too nice for a beater.

Only have six P14's, three with issue sights, and three with PH sights. All have the long range sights all six are either by Remington, Eddystone, or Winchester
One M1917 (but it is RCAF marked.)
One wonders why the springfield was kept and the M1917 dumped when it had better sights. I supose it was the "not invented here " syndrome
 
Shor it today. It has a 030 front blade sight. Using the battle site I shot a 1inch 2 shot group (I was running low on ammo after figuring out that the battle site was on) at 80 yards. If a moose walks in front of me he is going to get lead poisoning pretty fast! :)
 
Hmmm...either too nice to go hunting with, or shot a moose with it...:D:p
