External Mag for Mosin-Nagant 91/30?

Does anyone know if or where you can buy external magazines for a Mosin Nagant 91/30?

I've seen a couple custom/homemade ones online, but it seems like someone out there must be be selling them.
 
You'd be looking at a custom job to get something like that. You could probably buy another 3 or 4 moist nuggets for what you would pay a gunsmith to do the conversion.

Correction nerd to the rescue! It's a bolt action, so he can have as many as he wants. 5rd limit is only for semi automatic center fire rifles. 10 rd limit for semi auto pistols of either rimfire or centerfire, no limit for non-semi shotguns, bolt actions and rimfires.

As far as the mosin idea.... there's so little space in there that I'd suspect it would take a lot of work to get it to work... especially if you didn't want to totally bubba your gun in the process. I wouldn't bother... just buy an sks and be done with it. Heck, they already have duckbill mags for those.

Thats what I looked at when I read this post. there is only enough room to get a bullet through the bottom of the mag when the mag plate is released. I suppose you can cut it off, but what do you attach the new mag to? There is only 3/4 inch of space when removed. Sounds like a good way to ruin a rifle.

As said, there are better rifles suited for this that would not be a waste of time and money.
 
Since it's a manually cycled action, not SA, can you not put as many rounds as you want? If not, i'm sure there's a lot of guys in big trouble for having old 94s that hold 9 rounds of 30-30....

From the RCMP firearms website:

Q7. What is the maximum number of cartridges that a firearm magazine can legally hold?

A7. As set out in Criminal Code Regulations, some large-capacity magazines are prohibited regardless of the class of firearm to which the magazines are attached. As a general rule, the maximum magazine capacity is:

•5 cartridges for most magazines designed for a semi-automatic centre-fire long gun; or
•10 cartridges for most handgun magazines
A large-capacity magazine is not prohibited if it has been permanently altered so that it cannot hold more than the number of cartridges allowed by law. Acceptable ways to alter a magazine are set out in the regulations.

There is no limit to the magazine capacity for semi-automatic rim-fire long guns, or for other long guns that are not semi-automatics.
