My Tiny Reloading Room

I live in a small, cramped apartment and my girlfriend said if she got a craft corner I could have an area for reloading. Here is what I managed to squeeze out of our unused space. I got the laundry room! I am envious of all you guys with your own work shops, just wanted to give you a glimpse of how good you have it. I am still waiting for some shelves to arrive and some odds and ends for reloading. My Hornady Auto Charger should be in Monday. Just to let you know how tight the room is. Every time I pull down on the press if the broom is hanging on the wall behind me I hit it. But hey, I'm not complaining to much, just wish I got into reloading earlier.

Well, let's see. I have a room that's about 13 ft x 10 ft. There's shelving all the way around it, and a 4ft x 8ft reloading bench in the middle of it. About 1/4 of that bench has my ham radio equipment set up on it and the rest of for reloading.....yet....it still looks like a dump compared to yours. Nice setup man.
 
Nice and efficient setup! I think most of the guys here will all tell you the same thing ... bigger is nicer - but only because it gives you more room to make a bigger mess and fewer reasons to control the mess :p

x3 on the storing powders & primers away from the moisture in that area.
 
Before I reloaded my ammo cabinet was in a basement room by the washer and dryer that flooded the floor numerous times. The ammo was fine for almost 2 decades. On top of the ammo cabinet during this time sat a brick of 70's and 80's Winchester large pistol primers that I got in a deal. Every one of those primers loaded worked perfect and none of the ammo ever corroded or misfired. With reasonable precaution I'm sure your stuff will be fine too.
 
I quite like it. One nice thing about being limited in space is
you are limited to how much stuff you can have out at one time.
You have to keep it tidy and organized, there isn't enough
room to work, otherwise.
 
I don't have a wife, but I do have a large kitchen table.
Perfect for reloading.
And if company comes over,
I just put pillow cases over the presses.
 
I made do with about as much space for shotshell loading when I was an apartment dweller in my early 20's ... but I set my gear up in our storage locker in the apartment basement. It had a light in it so I rigged up a small bench, stool and went right to it !
Did most of my loading late night ... in 3 years, I don't recall anyone even noticing what I was up to.

Years ago while studying in Finland I lived in an apartment in the student village. I had an RCBS Rockchucher mounted on a wooden chair and had to hold the chair everytime I pulled the handle. When I finished reloading, the chair went into the bedroom with a sheet over it.
You do what you gotta do to reload!

Very resourceful of you - thanks for sharing.

Goes to show how little space can be needed if the handloader is willing to give up some convenience. Reminds me of my last place, where I built furniture in the 8X12 furnace/laundry room even though it was "too small to do that". Everything had its place, and had to be moved to and from that place as it was being used.
