ISSC Rifle... very disappointing!

We're idiots that get what we deserve.
We demand tacticool looking black rifles with rails and lights and all kinds of junk. We post pics of shotguns with 14" barrels and bayonets??

In the old days we wanted good guns that worked reliably.

In case you have been sleeping for the last 20 years, nobody cares about the old days any more. People want to have fun and try new things and that doesn't make them idiots. Must be a grumpy old man :(

Possibly grumpy yes.
Uncomfortable with the direction I see firearms heading. The more tactical it gets the more alienated WE get from the voting public. The easier it gets for the RCMP to regulate.

While i agree with you in regard to the scar, the 15-22 is not at all a proper stand in for it.

Yea but everyone was looking to the issc mk22 as a stand in to replace their 15-22 as their Tac-.22 fun gun.

That sounds to me like it could be more of an ammo problem than a rifle one. Do you have any details? I'm not ready to blame the rifle until I get more info

It's not an issue with ammo, I was running CCI stingers (the ammo the gun works best with and the ammo the manufacturer stipulates) and I ended with a bullet hole almost directly right of the ejection port. If someone were standing beside me they would have been hit very badly. The problem is the bolt tension is dictated by 2 nuts (that aren't lock nuts or have been coated with lock tight) that shake themselves looser with each shot. Which then dictates the timing for the ejection of rounds, based on the speed and force the bolt goes back and forth.

Still waiting to hear some positive news about this rifle..............

Take a hint. It’s a crap lousy rifle?
If 49 people say its worthless and 1 guy said its awesome who are you gona listen to?

We want .22's with 50 round drum mags, flash hiders(?) and bipods for the hoards of zombie rabbits(squirrels?) that threaten to over run our position.

In the old days we just wanted good guns that worked reliably.

There is nothing wrong with demanding those things. The issue is, no one is actually willing to pay for quality. Very few are willing to pay that extra money to get something that works reliably and is built solid. Just because 22 ammo is cheap doesn't mean a 22 rifle should be as well.

If you see any black rifle (rimfire or otherwise) that has a price tag of $600 you have to ask -why?

First off, I would probably take anything you read on the internet with a grain of salt, as there seems to be as much misinformation than information.

That being said, about 500 of these have been imported and send out to dealers now. In fact, we can't keep up to the demand. We are constantly hearing positive reviews on these rifles so far.

The only complaint we've heard is that one of the rifle's came from the factory without a front sight. A fairly easy fix.

I recommend you shoot your new toy and come to a conclusion regarding it's performance once it's had some rounds through it.

Thanks,

Are these guys lying or do we have people on here talking about malfuntions and stray bullets flying out of ejection ports that don't even own an MK 22 ????

I'm happy with mine so far. Out of the box it fired the first 200 rounds with out issue. Then FTE and FTF started to occur. Rather then risk an out of battery incident I stopped.

Took the rifle home and found the bolt that places the tension on reciever assembly to be very loose. I applied loctite and tightened. If the rifle fires like the first 200 going forward I will be very happy if not it makes good practice for stoppage and clear drills.

Yes i agree with this, what i meant is that the mp15-22 is restricted and therefore i think most people would shy away from it (why i havent purchased one) also only 10 rd mags is very very lame...
I wish we could get the 522 here :(

600 dollar norc AR15s shoot great... same as the m14...hi point carbine aswell...all good shooting, cheap rifles...the rifle in question is new, and reviews are limited, so it is a crap shoot

I still have trouble understanding how such a scenario is possible. If the bullet didn't shoot out the barrel, then no gases were released, The bolt couldn't have been pushed backwards by those gases, and no ejection of the round could have taken place....

Blame the insta-gratifacation, post-COD world we live in.

But that shouldn't sway anyone from not buying an inexpensive firearm and expecting it to work reliably - the ISSC was made to appeal to a certain segment of the market - but for $600 I'd rather get something else.

Thats exactly why i call BS on his post claiming failures because i bet he doesnt even have an MK22.

Not only that. Look at his post #12 : he states he's "heard of" rounds detonating while being ejected..

and all of a sudden, at post #24, he's the one who experienced it

CanadianRocket, oh please enlighten us on the mysteries of your posts :D

From my experience with North Sylva they are less than helpful, and even impeded possible warranty work/replacement out of spite, when I complained here about there poor service!

I ended up getting a replacement for my gun through Gravel after North Sylva told me they wouldn't help me.

REALY? so guns and ammo etc are misinforming us then? not to likely! this firearm has mixed reveiws no doubt

as for good/bad sounds familiar, maybe the rhineland arms R22? some worked fine some were JUNK, its a chance you take with any new item on the market, does it mean dont buy it? NOPE it means go ahead but if you get a lemon you will need to get it fixed, there has been noted by some firearm magazines that this scar will go off with the bolt half open and a youtube video on it, theres also youtube videos on fixing the bolt timing issue as well, simpley put dont judge a book by its cover but if your gonna buy the book at least be ready to read it ;)

oh and as for it shooting out the side? alot of things can happen but this imho isnt one of them

here is a video of it jamming then going off, even issc makes note its not a common thing and took this particular rifle back to find out why in the notes below the video. also note the rifle jammed a case in and still managed to cycle a round, the problem was if fired without the bolt being fully closed it didnt create a new flight path nor fire a shell outside of the action ;)
