Hey all. I am looking for suggestions of a super accurate and good all round hunting round. I'm shooting a Rem 700 sps tactical chambered in a .308. I was told Barnes , Nosler, Hornaby were good manufactures . Are all copper bullets any good? What about accubonds, partitions , hunting ballistic tips?

New to this, thats for the help

Pretty much any of the premium bullets that are produced these days will do a good job. Yes, Barnes, Nosler, and Hornady all make decent hunting bullets. Bullet type and construction depend on what you want to shoot with them. Larger heavier skinned animals will require a more robust bullet (bonded core style) than smaller game ( ballistic tips). Most manufacturers will give game recommendations for each of the bullets they produce. Surf around their websites some for some ideas. Monolithic bullets such as the Barnes perform very well. Once you have figured out the type of bullet you want to use, then as said above, buy a couple of different brands and start experimenting. Your rifle will tell you what it likes.

Once you find what rerally works well in your rifle, go back to the store and buy a few more boxes of the exact same lot #, and put this aside as your "actual hunting ammo".

Ammo can vary dramatically from lot to lot. Sometimes not only is the powder lot# different, but it might be an entirely different type of powder. Brass can differ from lot to lot, too.

In some calibers only a few powders will work to meet the specs. In 308 there are many powders the manufacturer can choose from. Sometimes it is just a question of what is on hand in a big enough quantity for the proposed run.
