looking to build/buy a 260rem

me and buddy both have been biten buy long range shooting and have decide to build 2 rifles the same. We want a smooth action that combined with berrel will be a good long range rilfe 700 yards +, that wont be soo havey we can't carry them in woods. We like to keep it close to a grand for this as we both limited budget and want a pair of rifles we can go to range and play with and also carry deer and yote hunting. we will add qualty optics later.

also in shearch i found the savage Model: 12 Long Range Precisionthat comes in 260 rem

Appenately some people are having to wait a while for the savage model 12 LRP so you might want to place an order sooner than later if you think it might be to your liking. I`ve got one in 260 and with minimal load work it`s shooting 1 inch and under at 200 yards. For the price it`s a steal- I can load 140 berger`s to the lands and they still fit in the clip.

They have an HS Precision stock - kinda similar to the remington sendero.

Building off an action can be very economical and it gets you into a match bbl right away. I have .260 shilen bbls to fit savage actions in stock.

Action 300$ (savage package gun take off)
bbl 460$ (select match)
Stock choate, B and C or ?? 300$-450$

You can also bed and stiffen up the factory stock to make it usable then replace later.

A savage build is a very good plan, I just spun on my new shilen select match From Mystic Precision and it puts 5rds of S&B 147grn fmj into one ragged hole at 100, yes the cheap M14 food... Amazing barrels for the dollar spent.
