That is one of the nicest Russian contract 1895 Winchesters I've ever seen. I can only recall one that was better. I've seen lots of them. I can remember when they first came into the country. The whole shipment was only graded as "FAIR". There were a couple more that came in later but they went to the US, where collectors were emptying their bank accounts for them. Some of the later rifles looked to be unfired, other than their proof rounds. I don't recall how many there were in that condition but it was less than 50 units and ecause I wan't there when they came in I didn't get to see them. I think Lever shipped them out withing a couple of days.
Is the bore in decent shape? I don't ever recall seeing one with a decent bore. Everything from sewer pipe to fair is normal for these.
