I've got a nasty crack developing in my Wingmster's stock and, rather than having it repaired, I am considering replacing all the furniture with a camo synthetic stock set (for a field gun, not a tactical). Can anyone recommend a brand and a retail source? Thanks!

Just buy a reemy set. They are pretty cheap. Most gun store should have something, if you are looking for other options, brownell usually have a large selection of anything you may want for the 870.

I was looking for a Canadian source, as I was not sure if U.S. retailers like Brownell's can still ship that stuff over the border.

I bought a barreled receiver and a separate stock set when I bought my 870 super mag. The synthetic set off a "tactical" or whatever it was fits nice and feels good for plastic. It's just a plastic version of the hunting shaped stock.

I haven't checked recently, but the EE always has 870 stuff.

Buddy of mine swears by the Remington Sure Shot stock set. Less than a 100 bucks, available most anywhere in black and camo.

Sureshot, I put one on my 870 Express, very comfortable.

Actually I still have the original stock, dunno if it fits a Wingmaster but yours if you want it.

Make sure to measure the LOP on your old stock and take a tape measure to the store before buying synthetic. The Rem camo synthetic was an inch shorter even with the recoil pad.I damned near broke my nose firing 3" before I found out why I was stock creaping.I'd repair the old stock with glass bedding and refinish.I added a limbsaver and never looked back.......JMO.Harold
