I have a Japanese bayo sans scabbard. I really dont know much about Japanese military gear and hoping someone may provide some info for me.

The tag that was on the bayo, stated it was for an Arisaka, made at the Kokura arsenal. I have provided a few pics. Hopefully someone can tell me more about this bayo as well as a value for it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert but I did a quick search and I believe its a type 30 straight quillon bayonet made not by Kokura directly but by another company under their supervision. As for value probably 80-100 as a ball park.

Late War production Type 30 bayonets, with the straight quillon, that marking is a bit rarer than the more common standard Kokura marking.

Hmm, being a sub-contract would have thought that it would be the opposite, and not being so rare. What kind of value would you place on it?

Dont sell it! Buy a Type 38 for your bayonet!

Sell me one!

But ya, I thought of this. But that is the age old problem I have:

Have a particular brand of ammo: Need to buy a gun for that.

Have a particular sling, cleaning kit, book: by a gun that matches.

...and so it goes.:p

If I had one I would sell it to you. I recently sold my last two! The Type 99s are a much neater rifle though. Scour the EE you would be surprised what shows up.
