Sako Quad in Canada?

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm still interested in hearing any first-hand reports from folks who've shot this rifle. The worst sticker-shock wasn't the price of the rifle - it was learning that spare mags cost $60-90!

I had the Sako Quad in the 22 mag. The rifle was accurate enough for me. I just found the stock was a little small for me. I now have a CZ Lux in the 22 mag and find the stock to be a better fit.

As for who sells them, you can look at Ellwood Epps, they have a few listed...

I like this one...testing ammo,, the top left is plus v,the others are standard velocity

My experience is with the older Finnfire, not the Quad, but if the Quad uses the same flimsy plastic mags I would be cautious. My Finnfire came (used) with four mags and over the years they all began to cause problems...floorplates breaking, generally loose and rattly construction, etc. The gun was an awesome shooter with a fantastic trigger, and aside from the mags, I had no complaints about the rifle at all.

Well that’s not the case. The spare Quad magazines were made from aluminum same as the spare magazines I purchased early this year for my Finnfire. I do have two original 5 shot magazines for my Finnfire made of plastic and I use them a least as possible.

Looking back at pictures on my Quad, I have pictures of two targets I shot at 100 yards and the groups were under 1” . Pretty good for a rifle with only a 3-10 x scope...

Quad.

I got mine from SIR before they went to Cabela's. Any dealer that offers Beretta / Tikka will be able to get you a Sako Quad.

The four barrel version, + the dedicated Burris scope is highly recommended. I really like the .17 Mach 2 calibre, its accuracy level is spectacular, and even beats .22LR match grade ammo in my Quad.

Only downside, apart from cost, is the plastic stock, I really don't like it and for $2,000 it is not what I consider to be acceptable. Accessories are difficult to get hold of, I am still looking for 2 sets of the stock spacers 4 years on! They do a wooden stocked version that looks good.

Candocad.

I wish I had known back then that there were aluminium mags available for the Finnfire...I would never have sold it. With reliable, durable mags that rifle would have been a keeper.

Quad

I have a quad with 22lr and hmr barrels, varmint wood stock very pretty. look up my previous post to see it, the mags are fine and not flimsy, the accuracy is excellent but as any gun find the right ammo.
I have owned two finnfires in the past too, the quad is an equal to it in every way for sure, I would rather be able to afford 2 of them rather than change barrels but i hardly ever do that anyhow, the repeatability between removing and replacing the barrels is very good i know the scope setting for each and they are only ever 1-2 clicks out if at all.
My 22 barrel will shoot under an inch at 100 yards with varios ammo and the 17 is even less with hornady rounds.
You won't be disapointed my next rimmy will be another in 22wmr.
