Put up your mausers!!

Seems like K98's are almost hard to come by at a decent price, anyone have any recommendations for someone who wants a Mauser pattern Rifle for his collection and don't have a bunch of cash to spend at the moment. Iv looked at the BRNO and Yugo Mauser's any suggestions or opinions.

You can still buy nice Swedish M1896s and Czech refurbs VZ 24s mausers from Trade Ex and P&S Militaria. If you keep looking you can find a post war K98k from a dealer in Canada. I bought my tgf 50 back in July that way. RC K98ks seem to have dried up but you can still find them listed on the EE from time to time.

My other Mauser, the 22 LR the ES-350B Championship model.

That's quite a lot different from MY ES350B. Mine has checkered panels on the forend, on the wrist, and under the trigger guard.

Has yours been scrubbed of the checkering and the wheel emblem on the butt?

Mine is serial #169070.

I also own an 1897-made DWM Boer War bring-back carbine - pictured in George's book 'Carved rifles of the Boers - Vol 2' and a 1912 Model B - both in 7x57.
