Well it finally happened to me after more then 40 years of reloading. In one of the last boxes on the shelf there was a case with a 25-06 neck, stamp says 30-06. I`ve heard of this happening just never seen it before. Brass was new Win in boxes not bulk. Guess i`ll have to neck it up, sure brought my loading to a halt for a minute or two, kind of tough to stuff a 30 cal bullet into a 25 cal neck.

Years ago I bought a box of Dominion .44-40's and there were 19 .44-40 cartridges and a .44 Rem. Magnum cartridge. I didn't try to shoot the Magnum case!

Law of averages I suppose. All manufacturers have mistakes from time to time. They only strive for 100% QC, never actually attain it. It's like any roofer that tells you he's never had a leak either hasn't done enough roofs or is a liar.

You obviously weren't trying hard enough 
Glad to hear the error in materials was sigificant enough to halt the reloading process though - a less noticeable error could have resulted in a far worse outcome.
I found a .222 Remington factory load that was headstamped .223 remington.
It was a .222 remington cartridge, not even sure why I managed to spot that, but it caused some head scratching for a while.

I once bought 100 Lapua 308 win case... 99 were wearing a single primer flash hole while 1 was wearing double flash hole (berdan).

Actually CZ_Brno i used to have a 25-06, i didn`t like it so i sold it. Still have about 20 loaded rounds. I guess the law of averages says sooner or later you`ll find a mistake in packaging. Good thing it wasn`t a laxative mixed in with the ######.
