Awww............come on now John,what can it hurt to just throw a price out there? Only one of three things can happen,you can:

Over price them and make everybody think you are buying that South Pacific Island we heard that you are looking at.

Under price them,and get one heck of a tax write off for the extreme loss of revenue on them

Hit the correct price,but no one will believe it.

My assumption is that he buys them from Norinco (China), where they have more old guns then they know what to do with so they sell them for barely nothing. With the non existant civilian ownership in China everything is shipped to other countries and as there is a Chinese firearm ban in the states most of their guns go to smaller markets such as us :). Also when he gets stuff from Norinco he usually gets a lot more than just SKS's so it would be cheaper theoretically in such bulk quantities as well as with well made contacts it would be a smoother and theoretically easier process. Its also supply and demand as the Yugo was made in much smaller numbers than the Chinese or even Russian SKS. Also the Yugo ones are coming with tritium sights and a grenade launcher (assuming hes selling the m59/66a1, which i am interested in), which you dont have on your average run of the mill SKS.

How do you arrive at this interesting conclusion ? In fact we deal directly with the Chinese Military.

You appear to know more than we do, obviously you have been there more often than us and have much better connections, I would suggest we hire you to do our work in China....

You seem to have a lot of inside information that we have been deprived of, since when are MOST of their firearms banned in the US ?
Since when do MOST of their guns go to smaller market ?? A bit of travel may serve to show you that Chinese firearms are available all over the world, not only in Canada....

If you took the time to read our advertising you would see that the SKS rifles are from the military and NOT from Norinco....

No disrespect meant John. I was trying to come up with a possible explanation for the price difference between Yugo and Chinese and said this was all under my assumption. Guess i should just not have posted anything. My apologies.

I would hope so, we shipped over 250,000 of them tho the US over the years....
Later on two other firms picked p the lesser quality guns that remained (about 150,000) and shipped them into the US.

From what I have gathered the M59/66 is the cat's ass of the SKS family. I will definitely be grabbing one. It was almost my first gun when the first batch was in.
 
First gun i ever handled as a kid....the smell of it is burned into my mind.

How is it modified for the Canadian market??
I assume the mag will be modified for 5 rounds??
Will the grande launcher and sights for it still be attached??
 
Grenade launcher and sights are fine under Canadian law, no worries about that. Just the magazine will need to be pinned, hopefully in pleasant way.
